Warning: Writer at work…

I’ve been oddly productive recently. Not in the sense that I’ve actually published anything, but in the sense that the words and creativity are flowing and I’m capable of working on almost anything without needing much prompting.

As I said in my last text filled blog post, I am working on two different stories for Camp NaNoWriMo this month. However, if you look at my writer stats on the site recently, it looks like I’ve done very little.

Hmmm…. 8 days in and there’s nothing happening…. or is there?

Actually, I’ve had to stop writing on “Jade Cat” and do some plotting…

Sometimes Visual works better.

…which meant I had to read through all 70,000-odd words that I’d already written, write out a synopsis for each chapter (there are 30 of them) then try and figure out where the characters were going to go from there on.
The good news is that I managed it – the picture above is me working out the scenes needed for each character with a separate story thread (the numbers are characters, the letters scenes) and how the story thread for each character is going to move on and who is going to leave the story forever…

Sounds like reality TV doesn’t it….

Looking at the plot that came out of the exercise, there could be as many as 24 more chapters to “Jade Cat” – it all depends on how the writing of each scene goes, as I may merge scenes or have multiple scene chapters.

With “Blood & Kitsune” I’m doing quite well. It’s broken through the 10k barrier and the story is inching onward. I’d prefer it to move a little faster, but I’m not arguing as long as it moves.

I’ve also managed to publish the first of the “Author & Muse” stories – it’s called “Sleep (Part One)” and was quite well recieved; the initial post was on saturday (which is why it’s my last picture post) but it’s also got its own page – HERE – so if you miss the initial post each time, you know where to go…

I’m still undecided if I am going to colour all of them and post once a week, or publish twice a week but have one in black and white. I’d be interested to hear what visitors think…
